Introduction
IOL, in collaboration with MTC, provides APN SIM cards to IOL students, offering a generous monthly data allowance of 55GB. The objective of this partnership is to equip students across the country with monthly data packages, aiming to ensure widespread access and connectivity, including a SIM Starter pack with preloaded data and an optional MiFi Portable Device. Data will be loaded on the 1st of each month.
Providing APN SIMs supports and fortifies IOL’s ODeL model. It ensures that students possess the necessary tools and connectivity for complete engagement in online learning, thereby enhancing accessibility, flexibility, and effectiveness across a diverse spectrum of students.
What is Student Connect?
Student Connect: Bridging the Digital Divide for Brighter Futures, Student Connect is a tailored data package to support IOL students in their academic endeavors, offering reliable and affordable internet access for online classes, assignments, examinations and collaboration. It ensures students have the connectivity they need for academic success, coupled with flexibility in data management.
Who is eligible for the Student Connect service?
• All new registrations from year 1 receive it for the Free 55 GB Data.
• Students registering for a continuing 1st year of studies receive the free data upon registration.
• Students currently in their second last or last semester of studies, are ineligible for the free data; they will have to top up with NAD 202.50, via the IOL Online Shop
• For any active student within a semester or a full year registration, a top-up of NAD 405 for the year is required, and the student will then receive free data upon the next registration.
• The free data becomes effective for period of a 12 months after the top-up, as the subscription lasts for a year for each student.

Data allocation
• The APN SIM cards come with 12.5 GB of internet data 37.5 GB of APN data (including Microsoft Teams, etc.) and 5GB Social Media Data preloaded.
• Note: This data allocation will be loaded on a monthly basis for a duration of 12 months.

SIM Card Registration and Data Usage
• Upon registration of student’s SIM cards will be registered on MTC Veri-fi, as customers collect their SIM cards
• Unused data will not roll over to the next month and cannot be transferred. Therefore, the data has a validity period of 30 days
MTC reserves the right to suspend the customer’s access to the service in the event fraudulent activity is suspected and if the outcome of an investigation proves that fraudulent activity did occur, MTC shall be entitled to terminate the service. Customers will not have a claim against MTC.
Uses of the 55 GB data in online learning
Streaming of Online Classes: Watching video classes is one of the primary uses of data in online learning, 40 GB should allow for a significant amount of video content.
• Downloading Course Materials: Downloading course materials such as PDFs, e-books, and other documents can consume data.
• Online Assessment: The data allocation will prove highly advantageous for students when it comes to their online assignments and examinations, as it eliminates the need for them to spend additional money on data expenses.
• Access to a Wide Range of Resources: Online assignments will require research and access to various online resources, including academic articles, websites, and databases, making data crucial for gathering information and conducting research effectively.
• Timely Submissions: The ability to submit assignments and take online exams through the internet ensures timely submissions, reducing the risk of late or missed assignments.
• Reduced Paper Usage: Online examinations and assignments contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing the need for printed materials, making it a eco-friendlier option.

Collection of APN SIM cards
Collecting in Person
To collect in person, the student is required to complete a customer SIM card registration form. Additionally, the student must register with Verifi, powered by MTC, by providing IOL with their full and official names, nationality, physical address or geographic area of residence, ID number/passport, and and email address.
Via Secure Postal Address:
For collection via a secure postal address, the student needs to complete a customer SIM card registration form. Similar to the in-person collection, the student is also required to register with Verifi, powered by MTC, by furnishing IOL with their full and official names, nationality, physical address or geographic area of residence, ID number/passport, and email address.
In this case, the student will visit the IOL online store to purchase a Postal Voucher. Subsequently, IOL will dispatch the SIM card to the address provided by the student, with the cost incurred by the student.
• Opt for registered mail delivery.
• The student will receive a slip in their P.O. Box.
• Collect the SIM card personally at the designated Nampost Office using the provided slip.
The Postal Voucher is utilised for dispatching the Student Connect package to ensure secure and trackable delivery, promoting a controlled and safe collection process for students.

The Huawei ZTE MF937 is an optional device priced at NAD 1078.65, and it can be obtained through our online shop at www.iol.na/shop. If you wish to have this device delivered to you, you will need to purchase a courier voucher via the IOL Online Shop
